Locally loved and nationally recognized, this Queen City-born podcast blends humor, heart, and high heels as it dives deep into all things LGBTQIA+ in Charlotte and beyond. Hosted by drag legend Buff Faye, the show first strutted onto the scene in 2022/23 with Buff Faye and her fabulous sidekick Funsize — and quickly snatched titles like Queen City Nerve’s Best in the Nest – Best Local Podcast (Readers' Pick 2023). That’s not all! It was also crowned one of the Top 20 National Drag Queen Podcasts by FeedSpot.

Shane Mendez Windmeyer (aka Buff Faye) is a Native Indigenous business owner part of the Iowa Tribe of KS & NE. The Iowa Tribe (Ioway Indians) is best known today as the tribe for whom the state of Iowa was named. By the time white settlers first entered Iowa in the mid 1800s, the Ioway Indians moved their villages into northern Missouri, due to pressure and incessant warfare in Iowa between the Sioux in the northern and western parts of the state and the Sauk and Meskwaki in the southern and eastern parts of the state. Archaeologists call the sites of the ancestral Ioway Oneota, after one the names for the Upper Iowa River, where such sites were first located. Other closely related tribes such as Otoe, Missouri, Winnebago, and Omaha also participated in the Oneota culture.
